Michigan Coonhound Rescue normally only takes Coonhound type dogs, however we were approached by a woman stating that she had to re-home Milo immediately otherwise he would be taken to a shelter- her Husband was allergic. Milo is an eight month old Chihuahua, possibly a mix of some sort of Terrier. He is healthy and will be neutered and u.t.d on shots before adoption. When he came to us he was terrified of everything, but with t.l.c from his Foster Mom he is learning not to be so afraid- this is a work in progress. He is being potty trained and is doing really well! Milo does great in his crate and is never yappy or whiney. He likes to lay beside his Foster Mom on the sofa or on the floor besides her. He currently lives with a big dog and two cats which he is fine with- he actually runs around with the cats, zooming from couch to couch- it's hilarious! He likes to chase toys and take them to a safe spot away from the other animals. Milo needs to go to a home with someone who’s willing to put in a little work and give him the gentle reassurance he needs- Milo does not seem to know basic commands, his Foster Mum has been focusing on building his trust, training classes would be a great way for you to bond with Milo and it would be fun learning experience for you both. Milo seems to be fine with small children, when he spent the afternoon with a one year old he licked her and didn't seem to mind her being there at all. Update: Milo is going to the vet tomorrow (8/10/2010) to be neutered.

Update: Milo has been neutered and is recovering well so far. He tested negative for heartworm. :) Milo is all u.t.d on shots- including rabies.
